We wanted to let you know about a wonderful program at our school to teach our kids about gardening and food called Nourishing NSM. The reason the program was created was to address food insecurity and it was inspired by the documentary film “A place at the table”. The goal is to educate our children about nourishment and value of food. Several students don't have three meals a day and we need to help and educate them and the other students to see how they can help themselves.
For Earth Day a Harvest Dinner is planned that will feature mostly foods from our gardens; for
example, we might feature harvested and canned tomatoes. Parents are encouraged to bring food presented in
the Harvest of the Month Potluck (see http://www.harvestofthemonth.cdph.ca.gov/ for program information). Stay tuned for more information!
Please read the following important letter from the district about traffic safety.
Thanks to the parents who keep our kids safe every morning.

Auction Donations Needed
The 2015 Auction committee is busy rounding up donations for our Auction Luau in March. But they still need your help in acquiring new and different donation items, ideas and sponsors for the event. Every donation, large or small, will add fun to the event and increase money raised for our school. Check the flyer online to see how you can help make our annual auction a success, or click here to visit the NSM Auction website for more information.
