North Shoreview is a public Montessori school in San Mateo, California, offering preschool, elementary, and middle-school programs. We are part of the San Mateo-Foster City School District and a member of the American Montessori Society. Montessori Working Groups to meet on Wednesday

North Shoreview and Parkside Montessori parents are invited to join one of five working groups to investigate how we can best support the students and faculty of the Montessori program as we expand as two K-8 campuses over the next few years. The five issue areas include parent organizations; fundraising; communications; extracurricular activities and events; and volunteering.  Come ready to share ideas and work together.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Harrison at principal@nsmontessori.org.

Done la fruta de su árbol:Lunes, 20 de Abril - Martes, 21 de Abril

Si tienen un árbol cargado de frutas, considere cosechar la fruta para ayudar a alimentar nuestra comunidad.  Por favor no duden en donar las siguientes frutas: limones, naranjas, aguacates, nísperos y ciruelas.  La fruta será ofrecida durante la Comida de la Cosecha. Las cajas de donación para la fruta estara localizada en el salon de su hijo. Gracias por su ayuda!

Montessori "Cosmic Education" workshop at NSM, Saturday, April 25, 9am-3pm

NSM and the Bay Area Montessori Association will host a workshop by award-winning author Jennifer Morgan on the importance of "cosmic education" in a Montessori setting. Morgan is the author of the Universe Story Trilogy (www.universestories.com), books used in Montessori classrooms around the world. This workshop is geared for teachers at all levels and for parents who want an insight to their child’s education.

RSVP for Nourishing NSM's Harvest Dinner, Friday, April 24, 6 - 9 p.m.

This inaugural community event is the culmination of our Harvest of the Month Program.  Enjoy a fabulous dinner, courtesy of your NSM PTA, prepared by our children and the Nourishing NSM Team. Our goals for this event is to:

  • Involve students on a community based food project
  • Increase awareness of the food cycle from growing our food to bringing it to the table
  • Reinforce positive behaviors towards nutritionally dense food

Families, come and taste what your children have been growing in the gardens!

Este evento comunitario culmina nuestra inauguración del programa de cosecha del mes.  Disfrute de una fabulosa cena, cortesía del PTA, preparado por nuestros hijos/hijas y el equipo nutritivo de NSM.  Nuestras metas para este evento es:

  • Involucrar a los estudiantes en un projecto de alimentos basado en la comunidad.
  • Aumentar el conocimiento del ciclo alimentario desde el crecimiento de nuestra comida a traerlo a la mesa.
  • Reforzar las conductas positivas hacia los alimentos nutricionalmente denso.

Familias de NSM, vengan a probar lo que sus hijos/hijas cultivaron en los jardines y prepararon para que ustedes disfruten!

Spring Picture Day Featuring Sibling Pictures! Tuesday, April 21, 2015

As we do each year, spring pictures are being offered for those who wish to participate. This is also a special chance to have your children photographed together by signing up for sibling pictures. Watch for the sign-up forms coming home with students after spring break on Thursday, April 9. Deadline to sign up is Friday, April 17.

Walk to School with NSM, Friday., April 24th 7:30am, 7:45 am prompt Start at Seal Point Park

Join your friends in walking to school for Earth Day.  The walking school bus program is designed to get children active, increase safety, reduce carbon emissions, and get communities to work together.
